Ponds White Beauty BB+ Cream

What the Company claims about the product?

                       The Ponds BB cream claims:
·                      Instant natural coverage
·                     Non-pores clogging
·                     Light, non-oily texture
·                     Lightens from within epidermis level
·                      Reduces dark spots
·                     Evens skin tone
·                      SPF 30 PA++ protects from UVA, UVB and visible light.
  Ingredients:
Refer the image below.
Price:
Rs 69 for 9 grams and Rs 152 for 18 grams.
Packaging:
Ponds BB cream comes in a classy hot pink and white packaging. The carton is of a shiny hot pink and silver color while the sleek tube comes in white with a silver screw cap .The product comes out of a tiny nozzle so you regulate the amount you need. The tube is very compact and travel friendly.

Texture:
The texture of this cream is neither runny nor thick and gives a medium coverage.  The coverage can definitely be built up, it all depends on how much quantity you use. It smells exactly like the Ponds white beauty cream. (You would know if you have tried one). The cream comes in only 1 shade which will suit fair to medium skin tone.

My experience:
As I said before, I’m not much of a bb cream person and didn’t own a single bb cream prior to this one. The concept of BB creams had never fascinated me. I preferred applying my tinted sunscreen than going out with a BB cream applied on. ( I still do).  I don’t like anything that gives an artificial look to my face, and seldom apply foundation on my face. I just apply my tinted sunscreen, dab a compact or sometimes skip that too and step out of the house.
I had long made up my mind to not try any of the BB cream after a disastrous experience with Maybelline BB stick. But since this product came at such a cheap price, I couldn’t stop myself from buying this one.  I have been using this product day and night since a week and I suppose I am quite ready to review it.
The texture of this cream is slightly thick yet applies evenly. It takes a while to blend this cream properly as if left unblended; this cream might give an ashy appearance. Please go easy with this product and apply just a dot of it to avoid a ghastly appearance. Thought it comes in just a single shade, it works pretty well for my skin tone.  The cream does not give a very high coverage. The coverage provided is medium and does not completely diminish the appearance of dark circles and dark spots. It works well to even the skin tone and cover slight spots and blemishes. It does not form a white cast on the face and does not look cakey at all.  It takes a while to set and actually gives natural finish to the skin.
The BB cream is not very moisturizing in itself so if you have a very dry skin, apply a moisturizer prior to applying this cream. . Oily skinned people will definitely need to set it with a compact for a matte finish.
The cream does not feel heavy on the skin in spite of it slightly thick texture. The product is non-transferable and stays for a pretty long time. Though it does get patchy after say 3 to 4 hours, but does not completely fade away unless you wash it with a proper cleanser
The product also claims to contain SPF 30 PA+++ but I don’t trust the SPF provided in these cosmetics and still prefer to apply my sunscreen underneath this cream. I mostly avoid using this cream during the day time and wear it mostly at night.  This product is best suited for night wear or in room temperature, preferably an air conditioned one as it easily melts from the face in sunlight and gives a patchy and uneven appearance. The product control oil well, at least for me and worked better than Maybelline BB stick in this aspect.  (In room temperature)
Regarding the brightness and fairness claim, the cream gives a temporary brightness like how Ponds white beauty cream does. The face looks bright when applied but turns natural after a while. As for the fairness claim, well that is more of a production description and a way to lure Indian customers.

Blended
All in all it’s a decent BB+ cream which provides medium coverage and controls oil for a couple of hours but not on a very sunny day.
Summing up the pros and cons:

Pros:

Affordable. I think it’s the most affordable out of all the BB creams available in India.
Lovely packaging.
Decent coverage.
Controls oil in room temperature.
Gives a natural finish to the skin.

Cons:

Does not control oil in sun.
Might be a bit drying for dry skinned ladies.
I would give this a 4/5. Adios.
